Keynote Title: Some contributions to the adaptation of discrete metaheuristics for continuous optimization
Biography :
Patrick Siarry is an engineer graduated from Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité (Supélec, France) in 1977. He then received the PhD degree from the University Paris 6, in 1986 and the Doctorate of Sciences (Habilitation) from the University Paris 11, in 1994. He was first involved in the development of analog and digital models of nuclear power plants at Electricité de France (E.D.F.). Since 1995 he is a professor in automatics and operations research at the University Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), France. He is head of the team “Signal and Image Processing” of the “Signals, Images & Intelligent Systems” laboratory of UPEC. His main research interests are the development of methods for solving “hard” optimization problems occurring in real-life engineering design projects. He is particularly interested in “metaheuristic” approaches, such as simulated annealing, evolutionary algorithms, ant colonies, and particle swarms. His main contributions are related to the adaptation of discrete metaheuristics for solving continuous optimization problems. The methods developed in the team have been applied in various fields: image processing, computer-aided design of electronic circuits, fitting of process models to experimental data, learning of fuzzy rule bases and neural networks, etc.

Biography :
Prof. El-ghazali Talbi received the Master and Ph.D degrees
in Computer Science, both from the Institut National Polytechnique de
Grenoble in France. Then he became an Associate Professor in Computer
Sciences at
the University of Lille (France). Since 2001, he is a full Professor at
the University of Lille and the head of the optimization group of the
Computer Science laboratory (CRISTAL). He is an invited Professor at the
University of Luxembourg (2019-2022). His current research interests are
in the field of optimization, parallel algorithms, metaheuristics,
high-performnce computing, , optimization and machine learning, and
application to energy, logistics/transportation, bioimedical and networks.
Professor Talbi has to his credit more than 300 publications in
journals, chapters in books, and conferences. He is the co-editor of ten
books. He was a guest editor of more than 17 special issues in different
journals (Journal of Heuristics, Journal of Parallel and Distributed
Computing, European Journal of Operational Research, Theoretical
Computer Science, Journal of Global Optimization). He was the head of
the INRIA Dolphin project and the
bioinformatics platform of the Genopole of Lille. He has many
collaborative national, European and international projects. He is the
co-founder and the coordinator of the research group dedicated to
Metaheuristics: Theory and Applications (META). He served as a
conference chair of more than 20 international conferences
(e.g.EA'2005, ROADEF'2006, META'2008, IEEE AICCSA'2010, META'2014, MIC'2015,OLA'2018, MOPGP'2019).

Biography
Dr. Mourad Fakhfakh was born in Sfax-Tunisia in 1969. He received the engineering, the PhD and the Habilitation degrees from the national engineering school of Sfax Tunisia in 1996, 2006 and 2011, respectively. From 1998 to 2004 he worked for the Tunisian National Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG) as the head of the technical interventions’ department. In September 2004, he joined the National School of Electronics and Communications (ENET'Com), formerly (ISECS), where he is working as a full Professor. He is the head of the Advanced Electronic Systems and Sustainable Energy research laboratory (ESSE). Pr. Fakhfakh is an IEEE senior member. He was the IEEE CEDA Tunisia Chapter Chair (Council on Electronic Design Automation). He has co-edited six books and more than 110 papers in many prestigious journals, international conferences and book chapters. He is member of the scientific committees of many international conferences. He has organized many international scientific events, such us the IEEE Tunisia CEDA’s ENG-OPTIM’ Contest (4 editions). He was the general chair of SMACD 2010. Pr. Fakhfakh research interests include analog circuit design automation, symbolic analysis techniques, modelling techniques, and applied optimization techniques.

Biography :
Eduardo Souza de Cursi is B. SC. in Physics (University of São Paulo, 1978), M. of Sc. in Physics at the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Fisicas (CBPF, Rio de Janeiro, 1980) and Docteur ès-Sciences (University of Science and Technology of Languedoc , 1990). He is currently Professor at the INSA Rouen Normandie, where he was a founder of two departments (Mechanical and Civil Engineering) and creator of the Office for International Relations . He had many functions in INSA Rouen Normandie: Dean for International Relations, Head of Mechanical Department, Drector of the DEA "Modeling, control and optimization", Director of the DEA "Engineering Sciences", director of the Laboratoire de Mécanique de Rouen. He was also leader of several projects (creation of the Regional Centre for High Speed Machining, for the construction of Magellan Building), National Delegate for European and International Relations of INSA Group. He is currently Director of the Laboratory of Optimization and Reliability in Structural Mechanics, Strategic Advisor for European and International Relations, member of the ECOS Committee, coordinator of the Franco-Dominican program for Dominican Engineers in France, Editor in Chief of the journal Computational and Applied Mathematics. He was formerly member of the French committee implementation of sandwich-graduation French-Brazilian program and of the creation of the BRAFITEC program. He has experience and is author of a large number of publications in the field of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Mechanics, with an emphasis on Numerical Analysis, Stochastic Methods and Convex Analysis.
Prof. Jamal ZBITOU

Biography :
Pr. Jamal ZBITOU was born in Fes, Morocco, in June 1976. He received the Ph.D. degree in electronics from Polytech of Nantes, the University of Nantes, France, in 2005. He is currently Professor of Electronics in FST of Settat, University of Hassan 1st, Morocco. He is involved in the design of hybrid, monolithic active and passive microwave electronic circuits. He is involved also in the design of Rectennas , RFiD Tag and their applications in wireless communications, and wireless power transmission (WPT).
Actually he is the head of Computer and Telecom Networks in MIET Laboratory in FST of Settat. He is collaborating with many laboratories, with Pr Mohamed Latrach head of microwave Group in ESEO in ANGERS, France, Mostafa Hefnawi of Royal Military College of Canada and with Mr Ahmed Lakhssasi in University of Quebec in Outaouais and Dr Catalin Pruncu in Imperial College London UK.
He is the General Chair of the International Conference on Computing and Wireless Communication Systems (www.iccwcs.net). He is the author/co-author of more than 151 scientific Scopus Indexed publications and Editor of Four Handbooks and Book, and thesis advisor and Co-advisor of 35 Phd Students.
